Laura Scott, who also serves as Creative Director, has been designing and deploying websites for individuals and businesses since 1995. She has over a dozen years’ experience in television and video as an editor, motion-graphics artist and compositor and producer for HBO pictures, various indie film companies and a number of Fortune500 corporations. A graduate of The University of Chicago, she has a BA in English and an MFA.

Kate Lawrence has held management positions at Hewlett-Packard, DuPont, and a number of venture capital-backed start-ups. Her background spans patented research and development, manufacturing, engineering, sales, marketing, finance, and strategic planning.

Kate holds a double-major undergraduate degree in Chemistry and History from the University of Washington, where she also did Masters Degree work in the History Department and the Far Eastern and Slavic Institute. Her post-baccalaureate academic studies have been in applied mathematics and life sciences. She holds an MBA from Harvard University, specializing in Technology Management and New Ventures.

Lead Themer, Designer, Illustrator, 3D Artist

Al Steffen is an experienced webmaster and designer with experience in site implementation. Al combines expertise in xhtml and CSS to construct semantic designs that maximize web accessibility and cross-platform functionality. In 3D, Al is an expert animator and modeler, with experience on multiple systems, including the top-line open source application, Blender.

Before joining pingVision, Al worked in content management systems for Endoze, LLC. An aficionado of all forms of animation, Al continues as webmaster of Denver’s premiere anime convention, Nan Desu Kan.

Al holds an Associate Degree in Computer Animation from the Art Institute of Colorado.

Andy Kirkham

Software Engineer and Developer

Originally trained as an electrical engineer, Andy Kirkham specialized in power generation, transmission, automation, imaging and the black arts of analogue design. During the fifteen years he spent as a Hardware/Software Engineer designing high speed machine vision systems and process control equipment, he developed skills in C, assembler, VHDL and CISC/RISC technologies and many other hardware related techniques. In 1998 he founded his own UK-based ISP company and began working with Unix, MySQL, PHP and contributing to the open source FreeBSD project. Andy sold the company in 2000 and worked as a consultant while continuing to develop LAMP based websites.

Lead Developer and Software Engineer

John Fiala has a solid background in software, web programming and systems administration; 12 years in all, six in web development. His professional career started in 1995 at Comprehensive Software Systems, Inc., where he was a Software Engineer for 8 years. For the last several years he was with MeetingOne as their Senior Software Engineer. His experience ranges from PHP, through Javascript, HTML, AJAX and ASP.NET. He is proficient in web programming with PHP, C# and Coldfusion, and is very experienced with various types of SQL and relational databases, including designing tables, indexes, simple and complex queries, optimizing queries, Views and Triggers.

John earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 1994.

Andy Lasda has been professionally involved in technology roles for over 12 years, serving in such diverse roles as PC technician, System Administrator, Web Developer, Application developer in PHP and Perl, and carries significant experience with Business Analysis and Project Management. In his last job, he developed a multitude of web-based e-commerce and infrastructure applications for Dalbey Education Institute. Additionally, he has been a major contributor to the success of various projects with GE Access, HP, and MCI.

Matthew Saunders has been working and studying Technology for over 12 years. Most recently, he served as the Senior Director of Technology for WESTAF (the Western States Arts Federation) for eight years, where he conceptualized, wrote specifications, sold, and oversaw the build of the highly successful online application system ZAPPlication.org, a revolutionary jury system in the arts industry currently used by over 100 art shows and 30,000 artists world wide.

Ben Jeavons joins pingVision after building grassroots-media, online communities for the Enthusiast Group in Boulder, Colorado. Since high-school he has had an interest in the web, from first learning basic HTML and CSS to now building web applications in PHP. A Colorado native, Ben is a graduate from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Computer Science.

An East Coast transplant to Boulder, Elizabeth Hause brings over 10 years of solid experience in technology, engineering and business.

Before joining pingVision, she spent over 4 years at Six88 Solutions in various roles culminating in VP of Marketing. Her earlier career experiences span engineering and finance, including the Colorado Department of Human Services where she worked in planning and budgeting, Sapient, where she was Internet Engineer, and Arthur D. Little (ADL) where she was an Analyst in Telecommunications.

Elizabeth earned her Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Cornell University in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering. She holds an MBA from the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado at Boulder.

Claudia Peck-Kiousis' experiences include working with non-profits, organizational and interpersonal communication businesses, and engineering companies specializing in water resources, geotechnical, environmental and materials management. She graduated from the University of Arizona with emphasis in Communication, Media Arts, and Journalism.

Karyn Cassio has been in the Information Technology field for over 14 years. Prior to reinventing herself as a a PHP Developer and MySQL Database Administrator, she had extensive experience in Systems Administration, working on multiple platforms, and specializing in Web Systems Administration. She has a passion for Open Source projects and learning about new technologies, especially web centric technologies. Karyn holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BS in Computer Science from California Lutheran University where she graduated Cum Laude.

Jen Schultes has worked as a visual experience and interaction designer for more than 10 years. Her skills include branding, concept development, site architecture, information design and the creation of visual design solutions. Past projects include sites and web-publishing standards for Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies, including a major financial publication and a global management consulting firm. Most recently, her work has focused on organizations within the non-profit, social justice and arts sectors. She has worked with Drupal since 2005.

Jen holds a Masters degree in Fine Arts (New Media focus) from Rutgers University, and a B.A. in English and a B.F.A. in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin. As an artist, Jen has exhibited in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Monteal and Austin.
